We recommend that you use a sturdy case for storage and transport of your precious instrument. Moulded soft cases are often easy to transport, but don't offer enough protection. If you travel a lot, it’s highly recommended to use a well-padded hard-shell case.
For regular instrument maintenance, you should have the following accessories.
Use a swab to remove the moisture inside the saxophone as this can damage the key pads. The surface of the instrument can be cleaned with a soft cloth (microfiber) but never use an abrasive cleaner. Caution is required under the rods and levers of the mechanics. Springs can easily be unhooked or bent out of shape. Should cleaning become necessary you should visit a specialist. To keep the mouthpiece cork smooth and flexible, regularly apply cork grease to it.
There is a wide selection of reed-cases available in all price ranges for storing your reeds.
