Ovation OP24+ Preamp

I bought this as a replacement for the FET3 preamp in my Ovation Pinnacle 386T which had stopped working. The dimensions are identical but I had drill four 3mm holes for screws going from the control panel down through to the circuit board enclosure/box; the holes are through the ABS body material and are hidden by the control panel. The pickup and battery pack connect in the same way, i.e. using the original jacks. Works as well as the original preamp, very happy to have the guitar working again.

Ovation OP24+ Achtung: Polarität beachten!!!

Habe den OP24+ als upgrade in eine alte Celebrity DeLuxe (Bj. ca. 1993) eingebaut. Dazu war eine kleine Änderung an der Aussparung im Korpus notwendig, mit dem richtigen Werkzeug kein Problem. Aber Vorsicht: Obwohl der Stecker der Batteriebox passt, stimmte bei meiner Gitarre offenbar die Polarität nicht (beim OP24+ muss der "+"-Pol innen sein, bei meiner Ovation war er außen). Batteriebox umgepolt: Preamp funktioniert! (gilt aber wahrscheinlich nur für Modelle dieser Serie bzw. diesen Baujahres...). Ansonsten macht das Ding was es soll, der EQ könnte ein wenig fester zupacken, aber zu dem Preis darf man sich auch keine Wunder erwarten.

j'ai remplacé le pré ampli en panne de mon Ovation (modèle 3712 de 1987), et la guitare est de nouveau opérationnelle avec un son à couper le souffle; juste magic (je joue sur des scènes et tout le monde vient me voir pour le son de la guitare). Il faut par contre agrandir la fenêtre d'origine, mais rien de compliqué (je l'ai fais moi-même, mais un luthier pourra vous faire ce boulot sans difficulté).
je suis Ovation depuis 1987, et pas prêt d'en changer
