Great sound

Playing industrial metal, and having been refining my guitar/amp setup for 7 years, I've tried SO many brands of string that it's unreal. My absolute favourite strings are DR DDTs, I've used hundreds of packs, but they're expensive and rare in the UK.

On the odd occasion where I've been out of strings, the Rotosound DZ10 strings have filled the gap nicely. They're a pretty close second to the DDTs, with a very similar sound. The feel of them is where the difference is, with the DDTs being more "floppy" and flexible when out of the packet. I primarily notice the difference when playing runs of palm muted 16th notes at high speeds (think the verses of "Rio Grande Blood" or "Double Tap" by Ministry). Someone described it as being able to "dig in" to the string, and I like that phrase. It feels like the string "obeys" the pick, while still feeling like it's there (unlike the 6th string of a pack of 9s or 10s, where you feel like you?re ?miming? the picking motion with no string) Imagine trying to practice throwing a punch in thin air, against practising with a punch bag... same motion, entirely different feeling and "power".

That said, the DZ10s are a firm backup for me, and if I were ever to be unable to buy DR DDTs again, I'd continue my playing using these! They sound great, stay in tune with aggressive playing, and feel just fine for the most part.

One of the best strings that I ever played
Anonymous 30.11.2015
These strings are great for metal and drop tunings.
Strings I was looking for a long time and that are difficult to purchase in my country .

If you love your guitar, don't play with these strings in standard. Just don't. If you have some mercy for your guitar neck, don't.

High strings have a nice, clear tone, and bass strings are a bit muddy.
Strings remain in a good condition for a long time

Natürlich gibt es immer besseres, aber...
Does it djent? 03.04.2022
