An excellent little hazer

This quality tool provides a good value for money. It doesn't come cheap, but it certainly works great. It has nice ergonomics and has enough power to deliver haze both indoors as well as outdoors. Highly suitable for daily or rental usage: Heats up in less than a minute and after that keeps operating at the maximum output without any pauses until the smoke fluid canister is fully exhausted.

Unlike some other brands, filling up this unit is really easy. Instead of filling an internal tank or a unit specific tank, you simply replace the used 5L canister with a new one. The unit comes with a special cap that is interchangeable between all German made 5L fluid canisters - all you have to do is to unscrew the cap from the empty canister and screw it on the new one. The canister is held in place with a wide velcro faster. Very easy to operate and secure!

The DMX interface has 5-pin XLR-connectors and the 3-pin XLR-connector is used for a standalone analog remote control. As this hazer uses internals from a certain German OE manufacturer, the unit also accepts remote controls from other higher end brand names. The maximum remote control output may be limited using the front panel controls which makes this unit perfect for permanent(ish) installations.

As usual, there are also minor drawbacks with this model: The flightcase only has one carry handle so without the lid secured in place carrying this unit is not as easy as it should be. Also, the power cord is not removable and is quite short; it's good quality though. At this price level eg. a Powercon - or at least an IEC - connector should be a standard.

This is a terrific hazer. It's been used in place of a unique and in my opinion is far superior. I have used it on events in small intimate venues where an extremely low output was required as well as outdoor stages where its full output was utilized. It also comes flightcased so no need to buy one!

Better value than Unique

Great machine. Two years with no probs so ordered another. It is heavier than the Unique but cheaper to buy if you add the price of a Unique, Flight case and angle adjuster.
