Affordability in motion

The Stairville MH-110 Wash, shown here in its updated version, is one of the most popular products in its class and comes at a very attractive price. It produces a narrow, steady beam of colourful light with a comparatively wide range of motion for panning and tilting and, while it may not feature a motorised zoom function, the user still has a range of other control options, automatic programmes that can also be run in master-slave mode, and a stroboscopic effect at their disposal. What is more, the new version of the MH-110 Wash has also been equipped with a pair of robust power twist sockets, and a quick-lock omega bracket for easy mounting is also included in the scope of delivery. Alternatively, of course, the MH-110 Wash can be placed on the floor.

It's got the moves

The Stairville MH-110 Wash features seven RGBW LEDs with a power rating of 10W each, giving the user a choice of red, green, blue, and white colours that can be combined as desired. While the beam angle is comparatively narrow at just 15°, the range of motion (630° horizontal and 220° vertical) nevertheless ensures a high level of creative freedom. The spot can be operated using the buttons below the display or via nine or 14 DMX channels. In the latter case, the user simply connects their controller to the three-pole XLR input and the signal can be fed through to the next device in the chain via the three-pole DMX output. The next unit can also be powered via the power twist output, and further options include automatic programmes, music-controlled operation, and a master-slave mode.

For showtime and party time

Party organisers and operators of multi-purpose stages can use the Stairville MH-110 Wash to great effect by placing it on the floor, where its locking power twist sockets will ensure that the power cables remain securely in place. Disco and small club operators on the other hand can use the included omega bracket to mount the spot on a truss and use the eye bolt provided on the back of the housing to attach a security cable. Whichever option the user selects, however, the noise of the spot's cooling fan will not be audible over the music being played. Event organisers looking for a versatile ambient lighting solution can activate the MH-110 Wash's automatic mode, which creates an even more dramatic effect when multiple units are used in a master-slave configuration.

Stairville LED Moving Head

About Stairville

Since it was introduced in 1994, Thomann’s in-house brand Stairville has been a permanent fixture in the store’s product range. The brand primarily focuses on the field of stage lighting in general, and its products include spotlights, moving lights, and theatre lighting as well as smoke machines, electronic control systems, and every other accessory you can think of. Thomann constantly has around 1,600 Stairville products on offer, and the figures speak for themselves: Statistically, one in every fifteen Thomann customers owns at least one Stairville product. Incidentally, the name “Stairville” is also a catchy English translation of “Treppendorf”, the town that Thomann calls home.

Minimum effort, maximum results

Despite the Stairville MH-110 Wash's great ease of use, a range of very impressive effects can be achieved by operating several units simultaneously. When controlled via DMX, for example, all spots in the setup will provide uniform illumination if the same DMX address is assigned and the signal is fed along the chain. Using a group of spots with pan and tilt inversion will create a more varied light show by means of counter-directional motion. After the show, everything can be securely packed away in customised cases - and it goes without saying that Thomann also offers a range of high-quality cases to allow lights to be transported in a professional manner.

This is absolutely a bang for the buck

Never have i owned a Movinghead wash with such outstanding light output and build quality for less than 1000 Euros.

We are renting them to weddings, concerts, DJ's and more and all of our clients are satisfied with the lights.

We bought 8 pcs... After testing them we are buying 20 more.
They are lightweight and can be placed where ever you need them, in my opinion these are giving the Martin Rush wash MH2 solid competition.

The build quality are over all good it looks like solid molded plastic with a matte finish and a small baseplate.
Also the ability to change from 14ch mode to 9ch mode for ease of use is excellent when we are renting them to DJ's.

The only thing i miss on these are Zoom, but ey, what can you expect from a head in this price range?

Why wait? Buy them and fall in love like we did!

I have 12 of these for band set ups. They have a nice tight beam angle, with very little spill. Reasonably fast motors, and the colour curve is good. none of this "50% blue then off" that you get with a lot of low cost LED fixtures.

Build quality is good, although it is worth checking the internal screws/bolts every few months (6) as they do work loose over time. Especially if used at high speeds (dance events etc)

Noise is the usual whining of motors at this price range. Its not usually a problem, but can be for quieter, theatre type shows.

Only disapointment for me is the tilt range. It doesnt go much past 90deg horizontal. But that IS in the specs, so shouldnt be a surprise.

Pros
Small
Lightweight
Good dimming curve

Cons
bit noisy
slightly shorter than ideal Tilt range

Bigger than it looks

Perfect fixture for everyone who have no intention to put them on ten meter high rig. Compact construction, impressive speed and silent movement make this wash a nice solution for clubs or small stages. Colors are bright, mixing is smooth and light output is exactly what you can expect from 70 watt led fixture. Included omega bracket feels solid. And it looks nice, even better when you notice a price.

At First i thought i got a wrong shipment, but it's actually larger than it seems on the site. Light output and dispersion angle are just about right, and it certainly didn't underperform!

Good & cheap solution for trusthworthy hardware compared to other 'cheap' brands
