Tama HP310LW speedcobra double pedal
Demonifer 18.01.2015
I have used many double pedals over the years, I have used sonor, pearl, dw, ironcobra, I was using the sonor pedals until they let me down after 3 years of use, I bought some budget pedals to get me by for a time as I was short of money but these really were rubbish, they were ok for the first 6 months but after that they started to break during sessions more often than not, It was time for me to get another set of pedals and I chose the tama speedcobra after long consideration, I was on a budget and was looking for something that is built to last and would give me a fast pedal for some of the metal I play, I tried the mapex armoury pedals and the pearl pedals before eventually deciding to go with these as they seemed to offer build quality and reliability from a legendary manufacturer that has developed a product through experience, the action of these pedals is smooth and fast, they arrived perfectly setup and ready to use, unlike some pedals you get that arrive with the beaters not in line and need adjustment from the start, all the machined parts seem of high quality, and they seem to use good bearings for a nice fast response, they only down side is you don't get a case but I can hardly complain at this price point, I had a case with my old pedals that I will use but if you don't have one I would recommend getting a case for them if you are going to be gigging, I cannot fault thomann on the price of these they are by far the cheapest outlet I was able to find when you compare thomann £169 to others that started from £360, excellent value from thomann!!, and with free quick and efficient delivery, I cant complain, its deals like that that keep me coming back for more, keep up the great work guys!!

Just a normal pedal

Nothing impressive. Good it comes with a key becouse a thicker key can not fit all bolts, particularly on the beater adjustment. Simple pedal which I like, well done, good manufacture, not too heavy and easy to work with it. Long board not mine choice, the movement is oily and not defined. Good beaters, light and nice coat. If you think they are short pull up the bass drum a bit. The fixed spring nut is stable and good idea by TAMA, BUT really difficult to adjust till you get your tension, because you must remove the pedal and pull the spring hard and painfull 1000 times, but you can turn in other side or change it with the upper nut which is more practical in deed. Uper nut is usless and hinder if you want a tight spring. You can adjust the length of the chain, but you have to cut it .Generally any cheap pedal does the same. Not mine pedal.

Great for the price
PsykeShow 21.02.2019
Now, this isn't the "perfect" pedal, but has served me well for 2 years and I still have no problems with it. It's not super expensive, it has alot of features and it's a great pedal all around.

If (when) I were to buy new pedals, I would still stick with Tama Speedcobra honestly. They just feel great. However, they released a new series in 2016, and I would go with the Tama Speedcobra HP910LWN. Maybe even their new 2019 pedal, The Dyna-Sync Direct Drive.

I wouldn't go for these again, but they were my first set of double pedals and I've learned ALOT on them, and the quality is definitely great for it's price.

You wouldn't regret buying this, and if you're on a low budget but don't want the best high end stuff yet, this is indeed what you definitely want. If you don't mind spending a couple extra bucks, go for the more expensive series from Tama.

I'm amazed
somesz 21.04.2017
I bought the pedal a month ago in March of 2017. I previously used a budget pedal and now I know that pedal held me back in developement. By using Speedcobra now for one month all I can say I'm amazed!

I had to set up, practice and adjust the bass drum's head a couple of time to be able to play as I feel but now, after one month I can clearly say that Speedcobra worth every eurocent.

It's different than other pedals due to the longboard but it's true, Speedcobra is fast, accurate and comfy. Now just after one month I can play grooves, songs, technical patterns I previously couldn't with my old budget pedal. And it isn't just about the amount of time I spent on practicing. A good hardware really matters! Especially if it's Tama quality.

I recommend Speedcobra but keep in my mind that you should be patient for the first time because it feels a bit different than the conventional pedals. But once you get the feeling of it the reward is huge!
