Excellent medium-firm mallet
Lord Nibbler 28.08.2020
Weighs about 200g and has medium firm core with a nice fluffy wrap.
Gets gongs singing without having to hit them very hard.
Really recommended.

Great mallets
Gong Garden 27.04.2020
I use these on 60-90cm gongs. They are quite heavy for the size, but are also quite soft.

The only bag thing about them is there's no string or hole for string to hang them up.

I find the more I use them the more I want to use them.

Highly recommended.

Very pleasantly surprised
innerflow 02.05.2020
bought this mallet as an experiment of sorts and fell in love with it from the very first strike. I've used it on a 34" and 38" gong and it sounded great on both!

Second thoughts!
Alias Spiderman 15.11.2023
Further to my original review below, after relatively little use the Mallet has developed a fault. The head and shaft of the mallet are coming loose. Holding the head of the mallet there's definitely some play developing between the head and the shaft. This means that when you strike a gong with the mallet a distinct and pronounced 'Click' is heard, which I believe is the shaft moving relative to the head of the mallet, making the mallet unusable. The moral of the story is you get what you pay for!
I recommend paying more and getting a known brand Gong Mallet.

"I bought this mallet to try and get a relatively cheap second mallet to play alongside the original mallet that was supplied with my gong, (i.e. as a pair) which was purchased secondhand locally. It is a better quality than the original supplied mallet and produces a better tone but you can tell its build to a lower price point than say the other Dragonfly mallets I’ve also purchased from Thomann.
Overall it offers fair value for the price paid."
