Excellent for students and starters
Pascal P 04.02.2020
I purchased this instrument to start taking Cello lessons. The cello has a very fair and good sound for its price and for this purpose. Wood, finishings, and overall instrument quality is also nice and pleasant. Even my teacher was impressed by the instrument's sound and quality, compared to its price.

Few things to note, in the first months, the tuning pegs had a tendency to lose their setup every time the instrument was left unused for 1-2 days, but by the time they started retaining the last tuning.

In overall, it is an excellent choice for a starter, and after 1-2 years you can change the factory strings and bow with better accessories and go to the next level.

MudiDabi 12.04.2018
I bought this cheap basic cello for our music video only. It looks good for my purpose and it doesn?t sound bad with good strings. I appreciate good adjustement by Thomann team, I have good feeling when I play it. And thanks for very fast delivery. It is amazing to have cello with bow and cover for this money.

Does not disappoint beginners

I'm starting to play the Cello so I have zero to none reference of what makes a good Cello. Based on other reviews, I was expecting this Cello to look and sound cheap and poor, but to my surprise it is very good looking, and the sound is authentic and to my beginner ears, as good as my skill can make it to be. If you're a newbie like me, don't think twice and just buy it. The quality is good enough for the uneducated ear and you get to start practicing without overthinking the process of selecting a Cello.

Great for beginners

Took it very soon to a luthier specializing in cellos among other instruments. Here is his conclusion:
Two strings slightly lowered. Neck is alright but not perfect.
I wanted the A string changed due to the sound but after the changing I realize that the stock strings are easier to play (for your information, so keep it in mind when you buy).
He had to size up the string hole on the pin I think.
He didn't change the bridge as he often expects from cheap cellos.

All in all, I am happy with what I got for the price. In truth, this specific piece didn't need to go to the luthier, which is good news for other people thinking about buying this. Good luck on your cello journey.
