Waldorf Iridium Keyboard

First off its an amazing synth that's very easy to use even for a beginner, looks amazing and touch screen is super sensitive straight off. It sounds really amazing but it's spoilt by two issues
No1/terrible power supply connection on rear of synth cause for & £2333 I am shocked tgey used such a flawed power connection, the connection is hard to push in and it has already snapped the 1mm thich plastic piece in centre of power connection, what makes it worse is cause I'm uk I can't purchase a new supply even if I wanted, so shame on you waldorf very bad, not a very customer friendly situation, I tried site of uk supplier and they don't sell one on their site, so not sure if I'm Gona keep synth and I really want to as only just bought few days ago, I've contacted thomann about situation waiting on answer.
No2/ there are a couple of wonky buttons above the touch screen, which for a &£2333 synth is a disvrave, this should have been fixed before synth was released as its the same on all pictures I've seen of iridium module. So shame on waldorf for bad :uild. That being said its still an amazing synth and I'm really in love with it and don't want to return item I really don't, if I could get a new power supply i would definitely keep.it(even if I have to pay for power supply, but I can't even buy on cause im in uk, crazy situation that needs sorting. Out) . Despite these issues I'd still highly recommend synths it's fantastic to look at and those fatar polyphonic keys are truely amazing, if not for two issues I'd have given it 5 stars. Real shame waldorf need to address buying of power supply issue.im adding to original review as I've got a power supply for keyboard now(as a spair for future). I've added these comments as I was a it harsh before, this synth not only sounds amazing but looks gorgeous doing it, its so nice having a big colour touch screen it really helps understand what's going on with a sound, yes it's complex but it's easy to get to grips with fast, going only skin deep so far, but I'll never get bored by it, just play those Polyphonic fatar keys it's worth buying g just for them. So I give this full 5 stars ow as any previous issues are solved and build quality is astounding. Truely AWSOME must own synth worth every penny, I suspect prices will rise with this one for sure, and rightly deserved so buy while still low, it's a quantum almost and they cost four grand.

Totally blown away with this synth .. everything from the multiple engines inside , the insane FM, the ease of use to program the keyboard.. the Keybed is the best I have encountered on any synth .. overall a great addition to the studio.. does things nothing else I have can do ... bought this after my iridum module arrived with a loose screen.. thankfully the Iridum keyboard has not had any issues .. truly a synth you will spend years exploring

Als im März dieser Synthesizer vorgestellt wurde und erste Testberichte erschienen, reifte in mir der Entschluss: dieses Teil muss ich haben (obwohl ich mich eher als leicht fortgeschrittenen Anfänger bezeichne)! Aber die Berichte und Videos überzeugten mich. Umso enttäuschter war ich, dass das Gerät in D nicht lieferbar war und eine Lieferung eines vermeintlich lieferbaren Gerätes aus SK sich als die Desktop-Version entpuppte (Fehler im Lager). Aber nach 77 Tagen (fun fact: die Ordnungszahl von Iridium) kam ein Iridium KB doch bei mir an und in der kurzen Zeit, die ich ihn nun spiele, habe ich ihn lieben gelernt.

Meine Bedenken, ob er auch für Anfänger geeignet sei, haben sich zerstreut - im Gegenteil, durch sinnvolle Anordnung der Bedienelemente und der Menüführung auf dem Touchscreen lässt sich der Iridium KB nach kurzer Lernphase fast intuitiv bedienen. Natürlich konnte ich bisher nicht im Geringsten alle Features ausprobieren - aber ich blicke zuversichtlich in die Zukunft, was das angeht... Ein wirklich großes Highlight ist die Fatar TP/8S Tastatur mit polyphonen Aftertouch - es lohnt sich, damit herumzuexperimentieren. Ein Vorteil ist, dass man die Auslösung des Aftertouchs einstellen kann - für meine Spielweise war die Grundeinstellung zu 'weich' - liess sich aber problemlos anpassen. Auch die Anbindung zur DAW (in meinem Fall Cubase) war schnell hergestellt. Vom Hersteller würde ich mir noch wünschen, dass auch - wie für die Iridium Desktop-Version – die umfangreiche Anleitung auch in einer deutschsprachigen Version bereitgestellt werden würde, da komplexe Probleme leichter in der Muttersprache zu verstehen sind. Der mitgelieferte Schnelleinstieg in Deutsch und Englisch reicht zumindest für die Inbetriebnahme und die Grundfunktionen.

Alles im allem ist der Iridium KB ein Synthesizer, der viel Platz zum Ausprobieren und Experimentieren lässt und durch die vielen Features (die ich hier nicht aufzählen möchte – sie stehen in der Beschreibung) auch nicht langweilig wird.
