Effects to the power of eight

Guitarists and bassists often share a healthy obsession with effects pedals, and many collect them in abundance. When multiple pedals are used at the same time, however, a single power supply makes sense: Enter the Xvive V19 Micro Power Supply. This innovative unit provides eight independent power outputs, thus offering sufficient flexibility for most setups. The Xvive V19 Micro Power Supply is also attractively priced, making it an ideal choice for beginners foraying into the world of bass and guitar effects for the first time.

Compact and versatile

Housed in a slick and sturdy metal casing, the Xvive V19 Micro Power Supply takes up very little space, and can easily fit on or under a pedalboard. As mentioned above, it features eight independent outputs: Seven provide 9V at up to 300mA each, which is ideal for most analogue pedals, and the single 18V output provides 150mA. Individual LEDs display the activity on each output - and in the event of a failure on one of the outputs, the others will still continue working. The scope of delivery also includes a power adapter as well as all of the necessary cables.

Future-proof

When musicians develop a taste for effects pedals, their collections tend to grow rather quickly. That being the case, it is never a bad idea to invest in a power supply with a generous number of outputs from the start. The Xvive V19 Micro Power Supply's eight outputs give musicians sufficient scope for future expansion, and will suit ambitious beginners and seasoned performers alike. Players who don't have a whole lot of real estate to play around with on their pedalboard will also certainly appreciate the compact, space-saving design of the Xvive V19 Micro Power Supply.

Metal chassis, small in size, 7 outputs (I don't consider that 18V output a true output since I don't have a use for it, so it's a waste that could be used to power a pedal instead of looking sad because it's not lit).

I am a bit lazy, so I haven't measured the flow rate from those outputs, but the site's information is inconsistent with what it says on the box and on different forums on the internet.

You see, I bought it because I need to power 6 pedals and a looper (Harley Benton FXL8 Pro) that use different quantities of current. So, it goes from 10 mA to 135 mA (old Boss reverb). Ok, I knew that the this unit could go at least for 200 mA per output, but the question remained - will it be able to power my looper? Somewhere I read it goes to 200 mA, the box said that it could give 250 mA to a unit, on "Thomann's" site it said 300 mA. The looper itself consumes around 200-250. So, I tried it for the first time directly during a gig and it survived. No excess hum, no loss of power.

I am really glad that I didn't get a dud, but I must downgrade the product because of different information declared on the product's box and the website. Either the manufacturer doesn't consistently make the same product (because it's Chinese made), or the retailer didn't bother to read the declaration. Whatever it is, someone that needs a 300-mA-per-output unit that doesn't deliver what it claims it does, could be surprised in a bad way thus giving it a really bad review.

Small & Powerful!
Bankhead 09.09.2019
As a guitar player, I am really shocked by the quality of this small yet really powerful power supply. Easy to install onto my pedalboard, as well has no extra added noises in the background like the other cheap power supplies do. If you're looking for easy, small, adaptable and yet powerful power supply for your pedalboard, the XVive V19 Micro Power is the one for you.
