What an instrument!
Chronos 16.05.2017
This "thing" is a genuine fun instrument! The sound it produces is in between a clarinet and a saxophone, whilst using finger holes of a recorder style

Pros:

The instrument is played like a recorder which makes learning it very simple (..at least for me).

There is an adaptor in one of the finger holes that can be removed, and allows you to play German or baroque style.

It's very comfortable to hold as it is so light. the way its been made means your fingers (and thumbs) fall into the right places each time.

The sound is somewhat like a clarinet or saxophone depending how you play it.

Cons:

The construction is plastic, which although is light and seems durable, I would like to see if a metal version in the future.

There isn't much body to the sound. It's loud, but doesn't really have much character

Conclusion:

I have bought this instrument because I enjoy trying new things. If you have any experience playing a reed instrument and a recorder you will probably instantly be able to play this. I would recommend this to anyone, especially those who like to travel light with their instruments. I would buy again if they make a metal version!

JN
An expensive toy
J Neves 11.07.2022
It's fun for a while, and sturdy and light enough that you can take it out for a jam session at a bar without having to worry about it, but it isn't a serious instrument. Not much margin for tuning and even if you manage to do it half the notes will still be slightly off. Good gift for a kid that's getting started instead of the dreaded recorder but if you're half serious about music might as well just save some money and get an actual sax.

Not an easy instrument to pick up
Ryan D G 10.01.2023
Originally bought this for a friend who really wanted to try it, but they just gave it back to me years later without using it much. I also tried giving it a go, but getting it to make sound is really tricky for non-reed players.

This was partially advertised as being a fun and casual instrument, but it really does need a lot of work to get it going.

Well built, just not advertised properly.

Gute Alternative zu einem C-Melody Sopran-Sax
Rainer Music 04.05.2018
