I bought this desk for my small home studio, with the intention to use it with a Novation 61SL MK III.
The desk arrived with a bunch of bolts and screws missing (the plastic bag containing them got torn open, and almost half of the contents were lost during transit). This was resolved by Thomann customer service, they sent me the missing pieces in a week or two.
There was also a bit of cosmetic damage on some of the corners, and by the time I finished assembling the desk, there was even more of them. Seems like the black outer layer chips off quite easily. Hopefully it's going to last longer with normal use, time will tell.
Other than these, my impressions with the desk are quite positive so far, which is why I decided to keep it, despite the issues above. It feels sturdy overall, does not creak, wobble is minimal. The pull out keyboard shelf feels stable, slides in and out smoothly and quietly, and does not move around while using the keyboard. Despite what the 49 in the name of the desk would suggest, it fits my 61-key Novation 61SL MK III perfectly (with only millimeters to spare on each side). I like the cable management in the back as well, the compartment is easily accessible from the sides, no need to climb under the desk.
So in summary:
Pros:
- Looks good
- Feels sturdy
- Keyboard shelf feels stable
- Decent amount of desktop space
- Fits a 61-key controller perfectly
- Good cable management
Cons:
- Had issues with packaging (missing parts, cosmetic damage)
