This china was the workhorse on my kit.
Playing metal it went through some pretty severe punishment.
Excellent sound, very cutting without being intrusive.
Unfortunately after a year and 10 months it cracked. Which has now given it a very trashy sound with a shorter sustain.
I'd hoped it would have lasted longer, but I'll keep using it until it's completely obliterated.
Absolutely worth it.

A Beautiful China with a subtle edge
Thomas7957 09.02.2015
This Zildjian K-Custom 17" China cymbal is just a great all rounder.
The sound is trashy, as you'd expect from a china cymbal, however not to the point where it intrudes over your other voicing's.
The tones are dark and warm, and the cymbal responds well to a lighter touch... where as many other china cymbals have an 'All or Nothing' type threshold.
So all in all, its good for light playing as well. Though I wouldn't go as far as riding on it.
The hammering, as with all K-Custom cymbals, is not only beautiful but also delivers that K-Custom dark shudder we are all so fond of.
This has proved to be a great, beautiful, subtle and above all versatile china cymbal that I will no doubt enjoy for quite some time.

A bit too loud and cutting sound for my tastes. Still the best China I ever had.
I used the Zildjian P1300 Cymbal Cleaning Polish on it (by accident, it is NOT recommended to be used on it since it's a traditional finish cymbal) and it affected its sound. It is now a bit warmer and not so cutting, so just perfect for me :). It also changed its color a little, but I don't care about that.

Great tone, but a bit stiffGreat tone, but a bit stiff

I play a lot of metal and trash, so I need a china. I'm keeping it bell-side down. This is the first china I've ever bought, and here's what I think of it:
I love the tone, it's dark and trashy and gives me the chills.
But, I wished more "slushy" sound and a longer decoy. This china has a quick attack, but the impact sound is a bit metallish. "Clang". Either the great china sounds I've been hearing have been mixed very much, or then there really are chinas with a slushier, softer sound that doesn't die so fast. This one is kinda stiff/hard to play. It feels like it doesn't light up to the fullest sound it should have unless I hit it hard enough, which I don't want to do because I wan't to preserve it for a long time.
It's loud. Louder than my K-Custom Dark Crashes, but it's alright.
Excellent tone, actually just fine sustain.
There was a short black line on the cymbal from manufacturing. Just esthetics, but still - it looks uglish.
Edit: After listening to several other China's from different manufacturers, I realize I like this one the best. So, 5 stars.
