Zoom V3 with 16 vocal effects

Real-time vocal processing for stage and studio

The Zoom V3 is a compact and powerful vocal processor designed to enhance, transform, and harmonise vocals in real time. Featuring 16 instant-access vocal effects, it offers creative tools such as harmonisation, vocoder, talkbox, pitch correction, and special effects like "telephone" and "robot." Three master effects - compression, delay, and reverb - allow users to refine their vocals with precise intensity control. Designed for both live and studio applications, the V3 can be used as a standalone or mounted on a microphone stand, making it an adaptable tool for singers, performers, and content creators. Its portability is further enhanced by the option to power it via four AA batteries or the optional AD-16 power supply, ensuring reliability in any environment.

Hands-on control and flexible sound shaping

The Zoom V3's intuitive interface makes it easy to access its wide range of vocal effects, allowing real-time adjustments with dedicated controls. The harmonisation feature adds up to two additional voices for rich three-part harmonies, which can be tuned effortlessly via the rotary key selector. Advanced effects such as Formant Correction allow for subtle vocal adjustments without altering pitch, while voice-shaping tools open up creative possibilities for musicians, streamers, and sound designers alike. Whether refining vocals with transparent processing or pushing creative boundaries, the Zoom V3 delivers immediate and seamless control over vocal performances.

Professional-grade processing and versatile connectivity

With 24-bit A/D and D/A conversion, 128x oversampling, and internal 32-bit processing, the Zoom V3 ensures high-fidelity audio performance. It features a dedicated XLR microphone input with adjustable gain control (+3 to +40dB) and switchable 48V phantom power, supporting both dynamic and condenser microphones. Additional connectivity includes a 3.5mm auxiliary input for backing tracks, a dedicated headphone output with independent volume control, and dual 6.3mm jack outputs for seamless integration into PA systems or mixers. The USB-B port enables the V3 to function as a USB audio interface, allowing users to record or stream directly to a computer in 44.1kHz with 16, 24, or 32-bit depth, making it a valuable tool for music production, broadcasting, and online content creation.

What a toy
Acrobaat 15.05.2021
The effect sound cheap, although the range is pretty extreme for special effect.
The BIG MISS is the fact that I can not combine effects.
I can't even use pitch correct in combination with one of the others.
Only compressor delay and reverb are combined with effect.
Appearantly the V6 is able to do this but I couldn't find the information on the zoom website to confirm.
I can imagine the effect to be usfull in broadcast for speach, but having no way to combine the effects or saving the adjustments would mean to fiddle evertime I change effect which is undoable while singing.
Furthermore I found that the volume is very low and there is no XLR-out; can't get my head around using two different types of connectors for a machine that was designed to be used for microphones. Using my preamp resulted in no sound at all.
Non of this is mentioned in the user manual.
To me this has degraded an otherwise pretty nifty device to a childrens toy. Easy to push buttons to get weird sounds, it does get a laugh though.

Nice part of the rig.

Good processor for the money.
Easy to use, and features enough to use at home, studio or on stage.
You do need a good microphone though.
(Cheap)Microphones with high clarity might overload some effects.

ES
A useful tool with some gimmick features
Ender Smitch 06.06.2023
I have had the Zoom V3 for over a year and used it to record demos. It is quite helpful for generating ideas and I like the sounds you can get, but there is possibly too much spent on the silly features, rather than the core tools.
The build quality is good, the buttons and knobs are tactile and it's easy to operate in low light. It's a shame you can't stack the tuned modes like harmony and pitch correction, you can only really add compression, reverb and delay to the many pitch related effects. I will probably upgrade to a Roland VT4, but not because there's a problem with the Zoom V3, it's just lacking the controls I'm looking for.
