The System 10 bodypack kit comes without a microphone, or guitar cable - so it actually costs more, as you'll have to spend extra, unless you're already using AudioTechnica microphone/cable. Manufacturer states that usefull range in line-of-sight, open air environment is ~30 meters. I've tested the system indoors with aerials folded, and receiver hidden in a wooden cupboard, and microphone about 18-20 meters away behind a small partition in the same room and it worked. I wanted to be sure that when installed in rockbag rack it will operate ok. The distance between transmitter and receiver in my setup is less than 10m.
Compared to analogue it sounds cleaner. There's however one problem using digital transmitter, as I've noticed - some lapel microphones, when positioned close to the aerial will pick up digital noise. (I had lapel microphone about 1-3cm from transmitters aerial) And initially I suspected the system faulty, but when the mic was at normal distance it worked fine. Always make sure the speaker doesn't put the transmitter in a jacket pocket just behind the microphone.
Bodypack uses the same button to turn on/off and to mute the transmitter, there's however an option to disable 'mute' function (which I did), so transmitter will always stay on.
Power supply unit which came with the kit had originally two plug adapters euro and uk. The quality is very good, despite the both transmitter and receiver are plastic.
