Brilliant Pickup!
Tony5219 04.04.2015
This is the best pickup for the bridge position in a Strat that I have used, (and in my search for the noiseless holy grail I've had a fair few). I have this pickup combined with an Area 61 and an Area 67 in mid and neck positions and the Tone Zone sits very comfortably with these two, I have it set up wired via a mini switch so that it can be switched to single coil for that nice inbetween tone on position 2 on the Strat. It does the single coil sound (alone or in combination) admirably, you do, of course, have to accept a little noise in single coil mode.
In full dual coil humbucking mode the Tone Zone provides all the beefiness of a humbucker with the bite that a Strat needs to cut through the mix, and it sounds just great, (think AC DC or similar). It drives my crunch and distortion pedals and the power section of my amp in exactly the way that I would have hoped. Quite simply, if you're after a pickup that can really rock it out, this is just the ticket.

Lots of cut, yet also full and powerful mids and bass. My favourite bridge humbucker
Anonymous 05.03.2014
I have had this particular model in full size versions, 7 string versions and now these single coil sized versions. They are by far my favourite bridge humbucker. They are powerful, but also clear with enough cut to be heard and not become mushy when using them with lots of distortion. I have always loved Dimarzio pickups over Seymour Duncans (because to my ears) Dimarzio have just as much power (or more), yet they always retain this 'top-end presence' or clarity that many others do not. Highly recommended.

Great pickup!

I installed it on my Fender stratocaster, replacing the orginal fender bridge pickup. I have been curious of this pickup for so long, since it is used by many very great guitarists. Its a great little thing ;)

The main genre I play is Metal, but Of course I play other genres, too! And these PU is built for it !

The pickup has a very much of output - great for metal and rock stuff ... I love the ballsy low end and very open mids of this flamethrower. The ToneZone is the solution for those that want a fat sounding high output pickup with tons of mids but still need some dynamics going on!
It's a great pickup for adding effects and distortion to get your sound ... its have also an nice clean sound!

... I'm not sure there is a better pickup on these world... :-)
