I've always been into changing stuff on my drum sets. And one of the things I found really comfy is to put the hi hat in front of me - Bill Bruford style. I've used every single big brand wire remote hi hat - owned Yamaha, played Pearl Eliminator, Tama Iron Cobra; they all were stiff enough that you are not able to do any dynamics and splashing the hi hats at all. Than I bought the DW cable remote and the difference was huge... but after all is just not enough, the feeling is not like a regular hi hat stand. Those cable hi hats are made to be used with full spanned wire, no angles, no circles should be made. And don't get me wrong I was really happy with the new DW 9000 wire remote hi hat... It was just not enough. So the only option the drum world have is the DW 9550 Universal Remote Hi-Hat - it feels like a regular dw 9000 hi hat. Nothing more, nothing less, serves perfect what is build for. And you don't want me to talk about the quality of the DW 9000 series, right? ;) Outstanding!
