Clear sound, good sound shaping
maschmann 21.02.2011
I've bought the electronics as a replacement for my Warwick $$5's MEC default electronics and also to take off the "mid-edge" this bass has per default. The sound lost some of the deep mids, Warwicks tend to have and gained some clarity.
For the EQ capabilities, I can only say that everything each knob does eaxctly as you might expect - but in every case it's not annoying. If you increase or decrease the frequency level, it always feels musical. I don't know if you've had this with other electronics but with the default MEC, the higher frequenzies tend to get really sharp. no such thing with the Glockenklang ;-)
Installation is quite easy if you're familiar with electronics. You'll need to solder the connections to your pickups and the battery, that's all.

Top quality !
Le Bassman ! 28.05.2017
Fantastic item ! Sound is superb with my Bartolini pickups !
I can get a nice Jaco sound in passive mode and switch to a superb slap sound in active mode in a flash ! The sound is crystal clear with no noise whatsoever ! Buy it if you want quality, it is well worth the money ! Fiiting the kit was a bit fiddly but it comes with clear instructions, so I managed to do it myself. Me very happy Bassman now !

High-end onboard bass preamo with fair price and hi-fi sound
androniksupersonik 25.01.2021
Well i bought it for project bass of mine (Ibanez SR1000 from '98). It is a preamp known to sound very true and hi-fi and I thought that could be just what I want and need... and it turns out I did not like the sound (subjectively) it was too clear and studio kind produced. Mind you, I am playing passive Jazz basses mostly so... just a thought (I was going for something like Ken Smith sound with this mod but got the opposite).
Otherwise product is fully functional and well made, very very low noise which I liked, just sound did not worked out for me..
All that being said it would be hard not to recommend Glock preamp to anyone looking for clear sound.

Really upgrades a bass
LaaToo 24.06.2019
Installed these to a Fender Am Delux Jazz Bass V (also replaced the PUs at the same time). The result: superb sound, both in active and passive mode, very transparent. A real upgrade also in terms of usability: setting the sound is not at all fiddly anymore, have to rely less on the amps (just leave them more or less flat).
One thing I missed a bit: pre-soldered wire ends could have made the installation easier (not a big deal, though).
