Bought this acoustic because I needed one for studio and recording purposes. Honestly, I've never been a huge acoustics fan and/or player, and I always leaned to electric and electronical gear the most. Fact is, I've always spent a lot of money for my electric guitars, amps and pedals, because I've always tried to buy the best quality that I could with those.
When I made up my mind that I finally needed an acoustic, I couldn't believe how much of a difference there is in feel and sound between some of the best Gibson, Guild and Martin acoustics against some inferior pieces of junk that I had been trying for many months, a period of time that I decided to spend for understanding and learning mainly, before deciding what to eventually buy.
But, quality acoustics don' t come cheap...So, when I decided to finally buy this Custom line Harley Benton, I didn't have many expectations, knowing that with this price this guitar could at least do the job without disappointing too much. The reviews seemed overall enthusiastic...at least it won't completely suck, I thought.
Soon after I received it, a different picture revealed itself: the details, the woods, the feeling in your left hand, the timbre it has when you are strumming, which gives you a huge volume and body to the sound, but always with great bell like highs and not "cardboard" like nasal mids like with other acoustics, soon and incredibly made me fall in love with it.
To me, it's made for the pro's...don't know how others may feel about this, but to me it's perfect. Even the Fishman preamp that comes stock is powerful, versatile, and overall a great pairing for the guitar timbre. Really, really nice!
