Subtle improvement
Anonymous 20.10.2016
Pros:

- Less weight means that the arm has less tendency to fall down due to gravity. I like to have the arm always close to my hand.

- I expect that I will have to replace the Torque Bushings less often, due to the reduced weight of the arm.

- I like the touch of the rubber when holding the arm, and it gives me the sense of having more micro-control, but that may be subject to personal preferences.

Cons:

- Less ?Fluttering?: I?ve made an A/B comparison with the original arm, and I?ve noticed that it slightly reduces the tremolo fluttering. That can be a consequence of having less weight on the arm.
This can turn into an advantage for those who dislike fluttering.
(?flutter? is the micro-oscillations that occur on the floating bridge when it returns to its neutral position.)

Brilliant!

I've been playing Ibanez guitars with Edge tremolo systems for 25 years and this new light weight arm is a fantastic development. It feels oddly great, stays in place, doesn't wear out the torque bushes as quickly and, best of all, eliminates that unwanted "burrrr" and wobble from the trem's springs when you hit a note hard. With that in mind, the only thing you'll no longer be able to do is that classic Vai-esque flick of the arm to get an exaggerated "burrr", but if you really need to do that just stick the old arm in!
All in all a pricey but highly recommended upgrade.

VA
Way overpriced

Just about the only advantage this tremolo arm brings is that it is, indeed, light as a feather. However, I personally disliked how it feels compared to the stock Edge Zero tremolo arm, especially the texture of it. And while I cannot comment on its durability, its really low weight somehow doesn't feel too reassuring.
Now, given that you can buy entire nice tremolo assemblies for not much more, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone but those driven mad by the stock tremolo arms tendency to slip downwards.
I don't think this is in any way a bad product, it's just very pricey for what it is and to me it feels completely awkward to touch.
