After reading countless people raving about this and ending up with more synths than I care for I finally decided to buy one of these Jasper stands.
Setup is easy enough, the supplied Allen key is all you need to put everything together. Most of the rack is already assembled in the box, only the horizontal bars need to be attached to both ends.
On first glance I didn't think this could work but in reality everything is held very firmly in place, yet the stand itself is very light. Moving the holders is easy enough, again using the supplied Allen key.
Jasper claim the bottem shelf can support up to 40 kg and the rest 15 kg. After some quick test I can easily say that these are very conservative numbers. I tried to see how hard I could play a synth before the holders would move and I can only say that the synth itself started to bend, but the Jasper stand didn't move at all. Very Impressive!
If I might be very nitpicky or for the OCD people: every bar I checked had a miniscule dimple in the paint job, presumably from the nozzle. Also the stand was packed in a regular box with (only) bubblewrap, leaving a very tiny dent in one of the plastic parts. It looks like one of the edges of a horizontal bar cut into the edge of the plastic. Maybe add some card board holders so the pieces themself can't move inside of the box itself?
For me this is a tool and so if there is a small scuff I don't really care. And it isn't even visible when mounted.
I can only conclude that the hype is deserved and I would definatly recommend this product to anybody that wants a sturdy synth stand.
