Not worth the money

In contrast to a lot of reviews to this product, this snare stand was not what I expected. The system with the 'counterweight' (which isn't really an actual counterweight) does not work at all, making the stand unstable in almost any position. The thickness of the counterweight also impedes you from putting it in an upright position (which would have probably been the only way to make the stand stable). Another annoyance is that the basket part is not tightly fixed to the rest of the stand, and there no knob to turn that any tighter. I must admit I haven't been able to test if that was really a hindrance during playing, but that's only because I wasn't able to put the stand in a stable position in the first place.

There are only two upsides:
- The basket indeed supports smaller snares (like my Roland PD-125, or even my Prologix Blue Lightning 10" practice pad).
- It's cheap.

The cons of this stand far exceed the pros. Do yourself a favor and spend some extra money on a decent stand. Only consider this product if you're really low on cash, but even then it is not recommended.

A
cheap but good
Anonymous 15.09.2014
The millenium DSS-818F Stage Snare stand is a great and cheap option for little sidesnares or low weight main snares.
With the arm, wich is 12,5 inches ( 31,7 Cm) long, is the positioning between all the other tripod stands very easy.
The basket is conceived to hold 10" -14" .
I haven't got a 10" snare yet but my 10" Tom Tom fits onto the stand.
My 14" inch main would fit in size, too but not in weight. It's way too heavy (ok, it's a 14" by 7", thick wood snare).
The srews and the chromium plating could be done better but you can not expect the same workmanship at this 30? stand as at the expensive ones.

Perfectly adjustable

I am using it also as a stand for Millenium mps850 snare and it works perfectly..I am a bit taller person so I needed to find a way how to set my drums accordingly and this stand just works..I struggled at first with handling it ( since you need to find an angle and balance point as well ) but now I am absolutely satisfied..good price, good quality..

Some reservations

This was for my son.

It is heavy and stable and offers plenty of adjustment.

That said, he is good at finding weak spots [i.e: heavy-handed] and the plastic 'nut' under the 'basket legs' soon became weak and allowed the stand to slip out of adjustment.

I can't really recommend it for the above reason but it is possible that we got a bad example and others will not display the same weakness. It's for that reason that I have given it 3-stars ... on our own experience 1 star for quality and handling would be more appropriate.
