Amp simulations and onboard effects

With 15 watts of power driving a 6.5" custom speaker, the compact yet feature-rich Mooer Hornet White Combo is the ideal guitar amp for practising at home or for smaller sessions. The Hornet features nine popular amp simulations with adjustable gain, three-band EQ, and individual volume as well as delay and reverb modules that can be independently controlled via tap tempo in real time. Once they have dialled in the desired tone, users can store and recall up to nine of their own presets. In addition, the Hornet has a built-in high-sensitivity tuner that is easy to read thanks to the large display located on the top of the combo. Bluetooth playback functionality with adjustable volume levels is also included, as is a headphone output jack for silent practice. Last but not least, the Hornet's tiny size makes it portable, while its classic stylings will ensure that it will fit in nicely in any home.

Simplicity is the name of the game!

The user interface of the Mooer Hornet White Combo is intuitive and can be learnt by anyone in just a few minutes. As mentioned above, users can easily select one of the nine impressive-sounding amplifier models on board by turning the large, illuminated "chickenhead" knob on the front of the combo, and each of these models can be can played in Live or Preset mode. The selection includes everything from clean and overdrive all the way to high-gain distortion, in addition to acoustic and bass guitar settings. A three-band EQ section in conjunction with a selection of delay and modulation effects enable extensive customisation of the desired tone, and the speed of the modulation effects can also be adjusted at the touch of a button, while the three reverb types (Room, Hall, and Church) allow for a choice of acoustic environments.

About Mooer

Mooer is based in the Chinese city of Shenzhen and has been making products for guitarists since 2010, which include compact single pedals through to multi-effects units and compact amplifiers. The company initially produced a range of mini pedals before making perhaps its most significant breakthrough in 2016 with the sophisticated Ocean Machine delay pedal, which was designed in collaboration with Devin Townsend. Mooer's product range now also includes solutions that feature amp modelling, IR-based speaker simulation, and matching equalisers, and the company's focus remains firmly on the use of digital technology.

Fake sounding
Panza 28.05.2021
Great design, the Bluetooth is a pro, the amp is light weight.
Now, the bad part.
The sound is somewhat fake, distant, not direct.
My Roland Microcube of ten years ago has less features but sounds much better.
Even for practice at home it’s better to chose something that helps to improve your touch and way of playing.
This doesn’t.
I’ve sent it back.

Thomann service spectacular as always.

Nice desktop amp.
XIII 07.10.2024
It is just a practice amp, nothing more, but it does a good job. It is very small, light, and loud enough for solo practice in a bedroom.

I bought this one specifically because I play both guitar and bass and I wanted to have a little practice unit to play them both. The guitar sounds are pretty nice, some are even quite good but the bass amp setting is just bad. It was to be expected with such a small speaker but it is even worse than I expected. The acoustic setting, on the other hand, sounds pretty good, somewhat like a piezo and I like to use my fretless bass with it.

The effects are few and basically don't have any settings but they do a good job on a pinch. The tuner is very basic but does an adequate job.

Esthetically, I find it pleasing, it looks good on the desktop.
If you need a simple practice amp, for guitar that offers several good sounds, I recommend it, just don't expect anything good from the bass setting.

Pros:
Guitar sounds
esthetics
has a tuner
light
Bluetooth
headphones out

Cons:
No handle
bad bass setting
No USB connection
No updates
Mine makes a nasty loud noise in the headphones if I turn it off while they are connected
