The best headphone amp/effects unit that money can buy.
Robert Peterson 10.10.2020
I never purchased other headphone amps as they tended to have an extremely limited feature set and tonal range. That is not the case with the NUX Mighty Plug.
The default pre-sets of this four-channel headphone amp already sound great, but the ability to edit/adjust your tones through the smartphone app set this headphone amp far above all competitors. The app is intuitive and easy to use and finding "your tone" is painless and enjoyable. The amps, the cabinets, the effects and the acoustic simulator all provide a wide range of sounds and the ability to save your edits/adjustments from your phone to the Mighty Plug make "private practice" sessions an absolutely enjoyable experience.

I have several amps at my disposal but I don't use them too often due to me being in a small apartment with elderly neighbors. With the NUX Mighty Plug I play several times a day EVERY DAY and crank it as loud as I want with fantastic, inspirational sounds coming from my headphones.

I am so glad I bought this.

Great price, great USB interface, excellent portability...
fommof 01.04.2021
OK, so I was looking for a gismo, small enough to be able to carry it with me all the time (along with my 12" laptop and my guitar) for playing and recording my stuff.

It's small, that's for sure.

Soundwise, I prefer clean and semi-clean sounds. Was I impressed? Not really, but at least I was able to dial a satisfactory clean sound (with just a tad reverb, no other effects) and that did the trick. Not infinite options but I am sure a lot of people will like some of the available distorted sounds as well.

I was impressed with it's USB recording capabilities though, again that's a big thing to me so I am keeping the little bugger no matter what.

I downloaded both the Mighty Amp app (official Android app) and the Mightier Amp app (excellent 3rd party Android app) and it was easy to access all the available options to shape the sound, save presets etc.

Also, it was very straight forward to update it with the latest firmware.

I tested it with a pair of Sony mdr-zx110 headphones (24 Ohm), AKG K240 (55 ohm) and Sennheiser HD600 (300 ohm). I do NOT recommend using anything with more than 55 ohm with the Mighty Plug as the overal volume will be too low and there is no way to compensate it. There are a few tricks, like pumping the IR volume by a few dbs, maximise the amp volume etc. but be aware it will start clipping after a certain point. For my needs and for maximum portability the Sony mdr-zx110's will do the trick.

The included USB cable is too short so be aware if you want to use it for recording. Just buy a good quality 1.5-2m cable.

I can't comment on battery life, not yet anyway.

All in all, for my needs it's fine, especially for recordings while I am on the road and the portability is superb. Anyone is looking for more sounds, adjusting capabilities etc. should look away but it's worth for the price,

Super versatile and good sounding
Vorath 16.04.2022
Excellent mini amp. I use for practice but also to am alongside songs.

Sound is quite good and the phone app gives a lot of choices to make your presets. I use it both with guitar and bass and it work just fine. Just be warned that the latest firmware update changes how the unit works a little bit (guitar and bass amps are no longer separated)

Also be warned of the bluetooth audio delay: if you are playing alongside a tab video, you will be a second late. More or less.
I actually put the headphone out of the amp into the aux input of my computer speakers, so i can listen to my pc with no delay and adust the relative volumes.

Pros:
- Super portable
- Nice sounds for both guitar and bass
- Bluetooth audio capabilities
- Good battery life
- Backing tracks in the app

Cons:
- Bluetooth audio has bad delay
- Requires the phone app for full capabilities

Ordered it because i didnt want to disturb everyone around me. Turned out to be quite amazing.
6 presets to save to, multiple effects and good battery life.
Couldnt be more pleased. Got a modeling amp recently, but continue to using NuX instead!
