Rotosound Black Nylon strings
Loosecorp 04.04.2018
Very good product as all the set of strings that I always purchase with Rotosound.

I wanted to tried black strings on my bass and tried various types but was never happy with one.

This strings feels incredibly nice if you like flat wound strings.
The tone is very round and low and the look is obviously very cool.
I tried it on my Fender Jazz Bass but the strings were too thick and wouldn't fit the little holes at the top of the neck.
I then tried them on my acoustic bass and it sounded quite amazing, similar to a double bass, which is really was I was looking for.

Hope you found this helpful.

What a sound!

I never tried taped strings on my J-Bass, that's like a revelation to me! the tone is amazing, sounding kinda like a double bass, you can still get some brightness in the sound, it's not completly muted in the trebles.
The biggest pros to this product is (IMHO) the feeling of the touch with your right hand is so sweeeeeet !
Even if the gauge seems big, the tension is like a drop D, really easy to play and soft.
I'm not gonna say that is the best strings for bass, but if you want to experiment, definetly try these ones one time! You'll be suprised!
(I did a video on YouTube just type "Jazz Bass Black Nylon" I wear a orange t-shirt)

If you want bass you've got it!

I've a preference for Rotosound's for my basses. But never used these before. Bought them originally to fit my new HB PJ electric, but decided to try them out on my HB fretless acoustic which already had Rotosound Jazz flats on it. They fitted on perfectly without any hassle modifying the bridge or nut as I've read folk have had to with some nylon wound strings . And WOW! What a difference. Really does get that stand-up bass sound esp. on the lower tones and notes! An they're sooooo smooth to play and perfect for the fretless. Only thing is I'll need to buy another set for my electric now, as I like them so much! Price-wise they're probably the cheapest on the market too!

Something else...

The Rotosound Black Nylon strings are flatwounded and covered in black nylon so it has a smooth and satin touch, plus an edgy look, very pleasant if you are not used to normal wounded e-bass strings which can blister your fingertips, this is probably a close emulation of the touch of a double bass.
The most interesting aspect is the sound, placed on a e-bass it delivers a smooth sound, with slightly less gain and sustain probably due to the nylon surface, but this helps in bringing the sound closer to an acoustic bass, I'm using (and recommend) them to play Latin music styles as it can remind of the legendary Ampeg Baby Bass.
