Victory Amplifiers V30 The Jack MKII Lunchb. Head

I play rock music with have riffs and clean chords as well.
This amp seems to meet my expectations in terms of the sound of both channels. Cleans are crystal, don't break with gain on high and overdrive is meaty, well rounded, with some sharpness and enough bass and middle to sound full. NOMOD switch gives it less treble, more bass and more middle as well. It gets darker and it is very useful to have this option under your foot. It really changes the overdirven sound a lot. My only doubt is about the crunch option on clean channel. To avoid the volume drop I have to keep the gain on 12 or 1 maximum. The crunch tone at this gain level is a little bit muddy even if the NOMOD switch is not engaged. It sounds better, more saturated when it is cranked up more. But then cleans are then to silent. So it is crucial to find the sweet spot here. The amp takes great pedals in front of it and the effect loop works flawless.
I have to mention that size and portability of this amp vs. it's sound (and loudness even on 7 W mode) is unbelievable. It is a huge advantage. And the sound is really classy and has boutique quality. It cuts perfectly through the miks. It is built like a tank and you can see the detailed perfection of how it is built. Handmade in the UK. It says it all. All in all I am really happy with it. At least for now. :)

I always dreamed of having a victory amp, and I was not disappointed, at all!

Sound - the clean has a great headroom, full, very clean or, if we want, to break a little. Very transparent, the guitar sounds exactly as it is. The crhuch is old school, very British but soothing, perfect for classic rock, blues, soul, etc. The orverdirve channel has that liquid characteristic, with much sustain, mids, but without losing the clarity. It has a lot of gain, ranging from rock to metal, without any effort. In general, it has the character of the victorys amps, very responsive everything is heard (for good and bad), it requires to play very clean and precise because all nuances are heard. I am very impressed by the perfect sound of this amp. Wow!! In addition, it is very loud, covers any need, any stage, rehearsal and room, as you can also get great sound at low volumes. The victory amps have created their own place in the sound spectrum of amplifiers. Sounds like a victory.

Features - Made for guitarist. Simple. Everything can be controlled through the footswitch, (clean, crunch, overdirve, nomod voice). The 7W option is very useful for practicing at home or for rehearsals with lower volumes (low volume is relative because with 7W I can stand side by side with the drummer and I can easily hear myself). The possibility of switching from 6L6 to El34 is phenomenal, and even better is the ability to make Bias without having to open the amp.

Construction: Nicely constructed with state-of-the-art components, the chassis is very sturdy, made to last forever.

In conclusion, this is the perfect amp for me, I sold almost all of my pedals, I was left with the delays and reverbs because this amp does it all. It's small, it helps a lot in transportation, but it sounds huge! It's perfect!

Je suis globalement très satisfait de la bête hormis 2 détails:
1 - j'ai reçu une tête défaillante, avec un gros "ploc" dans la boucle d'effet à chaque changement de canal. Thomann a réagit vite pour le tester et m'en envoyer un nouveau sans plus attendre, merci.
2 - Il y a une différence d'EQ étonnante entre le canal clean et le drive. Le clean est très beau et perçant, tandis que le drive est sympa mais plus sombre, l'équilibre n'est pas évident à trouver entre les 2 car il est commun aux 2 canaux.
ASTUCE:
Pour en avoir discuté par mail avec un des techniciens de Victory (très à l'écoute et sympa), si on utilise le boost sur le canal clean, l'ensemble est bien plus cohérent avec le canal saturé... et c'est vrai!
Autre solution, utiliser une pédale d'EQ en plus du changement de canal pour les fans de claquettes.
Attention, la puissance est énorme, même en mode 7W avec un cab 112, ça dépote avec un batteur! 42W en clean et 44W en drive.
Je joue du rock au sens large du terme, sur une Roxanne std97 SH2-SH6, et une PRS SE Santana 2017 d'origine.
Le son est riche, plein, et perce très très bien dans le mix.
J'ai une préférence pour le voicing MKII en baissant les mids et aigus à 11H, sinon c'est trop agressif à mon goût.
Il faut prendre le temps de dompter la bête, et laisser quelques heures de jeu aux lampes neuves. Au premier essai je n'avais absolument pas de sustain en mode 7W, le son s'écrasait tout de suite. Après 4-5H de jeu, wahoo nickel! Alors pour ceux qui disent qu'il n'y a pas de rodage des lampes...
Du presque tout bon, si on est difficile comme moi... mais je l'assume!!!

Ich habe mir den Amp als B-Stock bestellt...als er kam, gleich mit in den Proberaum...da viel auf, daß der Amp erstens ein extremes Grundrauschen im Crunch Kanal hat, und das er bei etwas höhreren Lautstärken wie wild zu koppeln (pfeifen) anfängt (da kapituliert sogar ein Boss NS2)...ich dachte..o.k. schade..defekten B-Stock erhalten..naja egal..dann geht der zurück und ich bestelle einen neuen...also der neue V30 ankam..wieder Proberaum...selbes Verhalten....keine Ahnung warum dieser Amp mit Lob überschüttet wird...des Ding is einfach nur Mist...und im Live Betrieb mit Band absolut unbrauchbar. Und ja..ich hab es auch im minimal setup versucht..Gitarre (verschiedene) - Amp - Box (verschiedene)...bringt alles nix..rauscht und pfeift wie blöd..wenn man etwas lauter dreht. Echt schade...den der Amp klingt wirklich super...Naja..dann halt nix von Victory...die Suche geht weiter
