As a professional singer/ guitarist, I bought the Zoom AC-2 Acoustic Guitar FX to use for live acoustic gigs which I perform 6 nights a week.
Overall, this is a great pedal and particularly good for the price.
I use this pedal with an LR Baggs M1A magnetic pick up in a Guild Jumbo and it sounds great. The basic idea is to set the pedal to the type guitar your using and then tweak the sound with the EQ and that works great. However, playing around with the settings you soon realise that the other guitar styles can be used as presets for different tonal setups giving a huge amount of variability in sound.
The tuner it really accurate and easy to use and the reverb is really nice.
I think the ?bonus function? of the boost switch is brilliant as well and I use it a tonne more than I ever expected.
I haven't mentioned the output options but it works as a DI also and there's a stereo out option as well.
The negatives are very few. The most obvious one is that, quite frankly, it looks awful. I mean it's hideous. For some unknown reason, they've tried to make it look like it's made of wood, presumably because it's for the acoustic market. Maybe they thought it would look ?cool? like a 1970's American station wagon. Well, it doesn't. It looks ridiculous.
Also, it would've been nice to have more control over the reverb rather than just a one dial control. Having said that, it is a lovely smooth reverb that has a kind of studio feel to it. Really nice.
Altogether this is a really good pedal. It's really well built, like a tank, in fact, it sounds fantastic it's easy to use. It just doesn't look good!!
