Punchy, hard sound which speaks quickly. Ideal for flat-picking.

I needed to replace an old set of E***d strings - same gauge. The windings on the wound strings are coarser and that's added a slight zing to the sound of the strings. The best part is the plain strings, which feel a bit tighter and which sound out quickly and clearly. Ideal for flat-picking.
